ID Code Box resetting available for ALL Toyota vehicles, including the latest generation manufactured after 2018 and for ID Code Boxes without external EEPROM.
Resetting the ID Code Box opens up a number of possibilities for those working on Toyota vehicles, mainly due to its location and the long time it takes to dismantle the vehicle until the ID Code Box is removed. These include:
Key programming situations – For vehicles manufactured after 2018, where key programming requires a new kit consisting of the identification code box, Smart system and keys, users can also use second-hand Smart systems (with available keys) as a plug-and-play solution once the identification Code box has been reset.
Smart system fault – in this case, as in key programming situations, all modules would need to be replaced. Resetting the identification code box allows only the Smart system and keys to be replaced and both new and used Smart systems can be used (used Smart systems must have keys available).
