The universal FCA 12+8 adapter is the most revolutionary diagnostic connector in history

Vehicles from the FCA Group manufactured in 2018 or later are equipped with a Security Gateway module (SGM/SGW), which, thanks to advanced encryption, blocks most diagnostic requests from non-original devices. This includes functions such as clearing error codes, performing actuations, and programming ECU units. In practice, non-original diagnostic tools in these vehicles can only read fault codes, identify the VIN, and view data streams via the OBD port. To bypass the SGM/SGW isolation, a dedicated FCA 12+8 conversion connector is now used.

How to connect the 12+8 cable adapter:

1. Locate and disconnect the 12-pin and 8-pin connectors of the SGW module

2. Connect the FCA 12+8 adapter directly to the 12-pin and 8-pin connectors in the vehicle (the two connectors that were connected to the SGW)

3. Once connected, normal diagnostic communication with the vehicle is possible
