IDEAL EXPERT CHARGER 160 LCD is a modern, microprocessor-controlled battery charger designed for charging 12V batteries. Thanks to several dedicated operating modes and a 9-stage charging process, the device is compatible with a wide range of batteries used in passenger cars, commercial vehicles and other vehicles. The microprocessor-controlled system ensures a proper and controlled charging process. Once the battery reaches the required voltage level, the charger automatically switches to maintenance mode. If the battery voltage drops, the device automatically resumes the charging process. This allows the battery to be safely maintained at an appropriate charge level.

5 Charging Modes

The IDEAL EXPERT CHARGER 160 LCD offers 5 charging modes, allowing the operating parameters to be adjusted to the type of connected battery:

• STD – WET and MF batteries,
• AGM – AGM batteries,
• GEL – gel batteries,
• EFB – EFB batteries,
• LFP – lithium iron phosphate batteries.

SUPPLY Function

One of the key features of the device is the SUPPLY function, which allows a constant, preset voltage to be maintained in the vehicle’s electrical system while performing operations other than standard battery charging. This function is particularly useful during ECU programming and coding, diagnostics and other service operations where a stable power supply voltage is essential. The user can set the maintenance voltage within the range of 12.0–14.9V, with 0.1V increments. The charger can provide a continuous current of up to 160A.

ALTERNATOR and RECONDITION Functions

The device is also equipped with an ALTERNATOR function, which enables a quick check of the alternator’s operation and an assessment of the vehicle’s charging system. This makes the charger useful not only for battery charging but also for basic diagnostics of the vehicle’s electrical system. The RECONDITION function allows for simple and quick alternator reconditioning.
