The MCM2 license allows reading and writing of Flash and EEPROM memory in MCM & MCM2 series controllers via OBD and Direct Connect (DC) interfaces, with automatic checksum calculation.
Supports MCM2 versions:
Type 1. Continental MCM (MCU TC1796-256F / TriCore 1 EEPROM M95640).
Type 2. Continental MCM2 (MCU TC1796-256F / TriCore 1 EEPROM M95640).
Type 3. Continental MCM2 (MCU TC1796-256F / TriCore 1 EEPROM M95128).

The difference between OBD, DC and BSL modes:
OBD mode: is a software mode by diagnostic port OBDII.
Advantage: Fast – 5 minutes.; No need to disconnect or open ECU.
Disadvantage: Could not read damaged ECU.
DC mode: is a software mode.
Advantage: Fast – 5 minutes.; No need to open ECU.
Disadvantage: Could not read damaged ECU.
BSL mode: is a Boot Strap Loader mode. (Safe mode for ECU).
Advantage: Could read/write damaged ECU. ECU recovery. No need to open ECU
Disadvantage: 30 min to read/write.
Checksum not available in BSL mode
