ThinkCar SGW Unlock License – VAG Group – 12 Months

The ThinkCar SGW VAG license allows access to protected diagnostic functions in Volkswagen Group vehicles equipped with the SFD (Schutz Fahrzeug Diagnose) security system. Designed for selected ThinkCar diagnostic tools, it enables service operations such as ECU coding, adaptations and parameterization.
The license is valid for 12 months and provides unlimited access to supported service functions in VAG Group vehicles. The unlocking process is automatic, eliminating the need to manually generate tokens or access codes for each vehicle.

SFD Security System

The SFD system was introduced by Volkswagen AG in 2020, starting with vehicles based on the MQB37W platform, including the Volkswagen Golf 8. Its purpose is to protect selected diagnostic functions against unauthorized access. The security system primarily covers operations that involve writing data to control units, such as coding, adaptations and parameterization. Basic read-only functions, including reading fault codes, are not restricted by SFD.
The ThinkCar SGW VAG license provides authorized access to protected functions in supported vehicles without the need to manually unlock control units each time.

License Activation and Authorization

To use the license, you must register your ThinkCar diagnostic tool using your workshop details. Once registered, the information goes through a verification process before access to the protected service functions is granted.
For security reasons, each login requires additional authentication through the Google Authenticator app.
