Dynomet GPS V3 Portable Road Dynamometer
Professional Dynomet GPS V3 Road Dynamometer equipped with the latest-generation dual-frequency GNSS chip. The use of both the L1 and the advanced L5 frequency bands enables simultaneous satellite tracking with unprecedented accuracy.

Breakthrough in Precision: Dual-Band L1+L5 Technology
In the new generation of our road dynamometer, we have moved beyond conventional single-band solutions in favor of advanced dual-frequency technology. By utilizing both the L1 and the ultra-modern L5 frequency bands, the device can simultaneously track satellites with unprecedented accuracy. This means that measurements performed even in environments with trees or roadside infrastructure remain free from sudden signal fluctuations and inaccuracies.
A portable road dynamometer differs from a chassis dynamometer in that the vehicle is accelerated directly on the road rather than on rollers. In a traditional chassis dynamometer, the control software requires the roller mass and circumference to calculate engine power. With a portable road dynamometer, only the vehicle’s weight needs to be entered – nothing more.
The measurement process then follows the same principles as an inertial chassis dynamometer. The only difference is that the vehicle is accelerated on the road instead of on rollers, which merely simulate real driving conditions.
Road dynamometer measurements:
- engine power and torque along with their curves displayed on a graph,
- acceleration within any speed range, e.g. 0–100 km/h, 0–160 km/h, 80–120 km/h etc.,
- driving time and final speed over a quarter-mile distance.
Advantages of the road dynamometer:
- high measurement accuracy – measurement error is less than 1%,
- the vehicle is tested under real road conditions, which eliminates issues typical of stationary dynamometers such as insufficient airflow. In practice, this often results in higher measurement accuracy than in the case of a chassis dynamometer located indoors,
- the software has been adapted for road testing – in most cases, a road section of approximately 800 meters is sufficient to perform a power measurement.
The software enables comparison of results on charts and correction of measurements in accordance with the DIN 70020 standard.
Compared to stationary dynamometers, the device offers the following advantages:
- no practical limitations regarding measured power – it is possible to test vehicles of any power, provided suitable road conditions are available,
- ability to perform road measurements such as acceleration, speed, or flexibility tests,
- testing the vehicle in its natural operating environment, i.e. on the road it uses every day,
- no need to occupy valuable workshop space,
- attractive price compared to traditional stationary dynamometers.
