The lead time is 5–8 business days. To confirm current availability, please contact us before placing your order.

The Pico PQ428 NVH Standard Kit is designed for diagnosing noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) issues in vehicles. It allows users to analyze vibrations and sounds generated by mechanical components and helps identify the source of problems that can be difficult to locate using conventional diagnostic methods. The kit includes two PicoBNC+ three-axis accelerometers and two NVH microphones, allowing simultaneous comparison of vibrations or noise at two different locations on the vehicle. Measuring at two points simultaneously makes it easier to determine which side of the vehicle the noise is coming from or which component is causing the vibrations, without having to repeatedly reposition sensors and perform additional tests. All components are supplied in a carrying case, which provides convenient storage and protects the accessories during transport.

NVH Standard Kit in Carrying Case – PQ428

The Pico PQ428 NVH Standard Kit is designed for diagnosing noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) issues in vehicles. It allows users to analyze vibrations and sounds generated by mechanical components and helps identify the source of problems that can be difficult to locate using conventional diagnostic methods. The kit includes two PicoBNC+ three-axis accelerometers and two NVH microphones, allowing simultaneous comparison of vibrations or noise at two different locations on the vehicle. The system is compatible with PicoScope Automotive oscilloscopes equipped with PicoBNC+ connectors.

NVH Noise and Vibration Diagnostics

NVH diagnostics help identify the source of unwanted noise and vibration by analyzing their frequencies. Instead of replacing parts based on assumptions, technicians can perform measurements and relate the recorded signals to the operation of individual vehicle components. With two accelerometers, it is possible to analyze vibrations along six axes simultaneously (2 × XYZ). This allows technicians to compare two components, such as the left and right wheel bearings or the front and rear sections of the drivetrain. Measurements can be performed during road tests or stationary testing, for example while running the engine at increased RPM.
The diagnostic process involves:

  1. Measurement – the accelerometers and microphones record vibrations and sounds generated by the vehicle.
  2. Identification – the software analyzes signal frequencies and helps associate them with specific components, such as wheels, the engine, bearings or the driveshaft.
  3. Comparison and confirmation – simultaneous measurements at two points help determine where vibrations or noise are more pronounced and verify the suspected source of the problem.
  4. Repair verification – repeating the measurement under the same conditions helps determine whether the source of the noise or vibration has been eliminated.

PicoBNC+ Technology

The kit uses PicoBNC+ technology, which simplifies sensor connections and measurement setup.
Key advantages include:

  • Automatic sensor recognition – the software identifies the connected sensor and automatically applies the appropriate measurement settings.
  • Three-axis vibration measurement – each accelerometer records vibrations along three axes (X, Y and Z), using a single PicoScope oscilloscope channel.
  • Simultaneous measurement at two points – two accelerometers allow technicians to compare vibrations at different locations on the vehicle during a single test.
  • Direct PicoBNC+ connection – sensors connect directly to a compatible oscilloscope without requiring additional interface modules.
  • No batteries required – PicoBNC+ NVH sensors are powered directly by the oscilloscope.
  • No additional activation required – the kit does not require activation codes or additional registration.
