The software supports backup files in VBF format and binary BIN files. Checksum verification and correction are available for most modules. It can also convert VBF/GDS files to BIN when the control unit does not support reading. Available solutions include the Denso SH705x Bootloader and BSL Tricore modules.
PCMflash works with the ADS interface (version 1), which supports a limited range of control units, and with compatible J2534 adapters when the required drivers and libraries are available. Tested adapters include Tactrix OpenPort 2.0, Mongoose JLR, MongoosePro JLR, Teradyne GNA600 (VCM1), and Mazda VCM 2. The software requires a Guardant hardware key. Licences are sold separately for each module.
