ThinkCar EV is a diagnostic adapter kit with dedicated software that extends the capabilities of compatible ThinkCar THINKTOOL diagnostic tools to electric (EV) and hybrid vehicles. It enables diagnostics of high-voltage batteries and electrical systems, providing access to advanced diagnostic functions. The kit includes 18 diagnostic connectors designed for electric vehicles and software supporting over 74 vehicle brands, including Tesla, Audi, BYD and Mercedes-Benz. It allows technicians to analyze battery operating parameters, read and clear fault codes, perform actuator tests and access selected service functions.

Diagnostic Capabilities

ThinkCar EV provides access to diagnostic functions related to high-voltage batteries and electrical systems in electric and hybrid vehicles.

• High-voltage battery diagnostics – check the operating parameters and condition of traction batteries.
• Insulation fault detection – identify issues related to the insulation of electrical systems.
• Read and reset post-collision data – access and reset data stored in vehicle systems following a collision.
• Live Data – monitor real-time data transmitted by vehicle control units.
• Read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) – identify and clear fault codes stored in vehicle control units.
• Actuator tests – check the operation of selected electrical components.
• State of Charge (SOC) calibration – perform supported battery charge level calibration procedures.
• State of Health (SOH) reset – perform available procedures for resetting battery health parameters.
• EEPROM reading and writing – perform operations on supported memory chips.
• Resistance measurement – check resistance parameters as part of supported diagnostic procedures.

High-Voltage Battery Diagnostics

The ThinkCar EV kit extends diagnostic capabilities to high-voltage systems used in electric and hybrid vehicles. The software provides access to information about battery operation and selected battery service procedures. It allows technicians to monitor live data, detect insulation problems and perform supported SOC calibration and SOH reset procedures. These functions help identify irregularities in high-voltage system operation and assess battery parameters.
